Default Debaffling stock can

Well i started Debaffling this morning as i found what to do at SVrider.com. So far only have the holes drilled and wow, what a difference already.

I would say its almost twice as loud now, Cant imagine if its gonna be louder with the whole baffle out.

Now the question is. In a month or so am gonna buy either a viper or scorpion can. How much louder are we talking? I seen a good 50 videos on the net on all kinds of end cans for sound but in my opinion nothing compares to actually hearing it. I watched a video of a before and after removal of baffle on the stock can, and i couldnt tell any difference on the video. Now i just did it its a whole new world of difference, and thats just a few holes drilled.

I dont want to go with a micro can as i think it looks hideouse on the bike, A r6 it looks nice, but not the SV. The difference between the 55'' and 44'' (i think the other two sizes are or close) would that make a world of a difference on the noise? I dont like the long one or short one, going in the middle if its reasonably loud.

I posted this in the hardware but i dont know how many people actually go there.I know here i get quick responses so srry about double posting

I'd just buy a secondhand slipon and save about 3 tonnes of weight in the process.

ok.....

In a month or 2 am gonna be replacing the stock can with a viper or scorpion. Question is how much louder is it gonna be over a debaffled stock can? Am in an area where theres alot of cops. So the louder i go the less i have to play as they can hear me a mile away if its loud.

I have noticed though with the baffle out i dont tend to bring the bike over 6k anymore. Higher rpm's i only hear the motor and not the rumble, good mod to save on gas for me lol

Shouldnt be louder if you keep the after market exhaust baffle in - i dont know about other manufacturers but my scorpian baffle is just fitted with a simple screw in and i always keep alan keys and the baffle in my seat so if i want to put it in if im going out early on it or just have a really bad headache i can simply slot in and screw it. I highly reccomend Scorpian cans sound ace even with the baffle in.

cool so the aftermarket cans come with little baffles compared to the big ass ones in the stock. So you think a debaffled stock is as loud as a baffled scorpion?

Yeah, I put holes in my stock can but didn't take the baffle out & yes it was louder - probably similar to an aftermarket can with the baffle in.
But why do you want an aftermarket can if you don't want it louder? the weight saving you will not notice, nor will you get any performance gain.

The removable baffle is big enough to fit in my seat cowl so thats a general idea of the size is not big at all.

I wouldnt know ive never heard a stock debaffled can.... however i would say that a baffled scorpian is deffinately louder than a stock silencer but its not headache and wake up your next door neighbours sort of loud if you get me lol!

The stock can is huge! we all know that and it looks retarted. I do want alittle louder then my debaffled one. But i dont want it sounding like a harley all the time either. Id say 70% of the time ill leave the baffle in if there not much louder then the stock debaffled. I wish i knew some people around me with SV's so i can get an idea of things.

next quick question, viper or scorpion, which is louder
