Looks like thats for car parts.

What sort of modifications are you looking to make to your bike (I assume its an SV!)? Most people find its hard to get over 80 bhp out of an SV.

A good power increase can start with a full race system exhaust, a free-er flowing air filter and a rejetting of the carbs / new ECU chip (power commander?).

HTH

It's not hard to do, it's just hard to do without being either spendy or unreliable If mine doesn't clear 80 on a DJ machine once I do the busa pistons it'll be a bit of a letdown though.

Not convinced on the busa pistons myself as they're intended for nickasil bores where the expansion rates are all different so the piston to bore clearence is critical and the only gain is from thinning the headgasket, but thats only very slight as the compression would be lower than stock if you put them straight in.

It will need the compression ratio testing and the barrells skimmed to suit for best results, but your still bolting it to the weak links of crank and rods, and there's no subsitute for cubes

Ok magnum tuning...

"twist air fuel saver spiral" CON
"D-boost performance chip" CON
"adjustable o2 sensor" CON
"fuel saver chip module" CON

All of this complete tat they're selling will make your car/bike run rich or lean, either losing power, ruining driveability or doing expensive damage.

Look at the claims for some of the parts, +10% bhp by chopping into 2 wires... yeeeeeahhhh.

Well, not only gain, there's also the weight loss. I wouldn't bother with it if the cost wasn't so low to be fair. (and as ever, I don't need more power, I just like monkeying with bikes- I wouldn't pay someone else to do it for me other than the skim, which is going to be cheap)

I long ago decided against a big bore, not that I work the bike especially hard but I can't afford to have it blow up, I need it for transport and I want it to last another 40000 miles Quite a few people have used the Busa pistons without issue in SVs and GSXR1100s though ( I can think of 5 GSXR1100s with about quarter of a million miles between them on Busa pistons without any probs), it's been well enough tested over the years I reckon.

But it's definately not a mod I'd be recommending to others unless they're similiarly afflicted

Hello northwind,
whats the gains with busa pistons, I heard they are higher compression, are they higher comp, bigger bore, lighter or what and just how cheap do you mean, Thanks
p.s. was just about to order wiseco pistons to take it to 700cc, are they supposed to be heavier therefore affecting reliability ? anything you do to increase power will affect reliability, bigger bang means more loading on everything anyway.
