Cool Rust & Corrosion advice

I plan to use my SV to commute to work which is roughly a 60 mile round trip. I wouldn't clean it every day but plan to clean it once a week.
I have heard that SV's corrode and rust in areas more than other makes and was wondering if anyone has any good advice on what I can do to maintain my sv and try to prevent this from happening. I don't want to start buying everything off the shelf to help protect it but would love to hear any advice on good products. It will be kept in the garage when not in use

I would start with some protective clear film on the front of the fork legs, subtle and does the job.

There is an aircraft spray that you can use as well although I can not think of the name for the life of me, no doubt someone else will say it in a minute.

take off the front(if its a faired) and the rear subframes and get em powder coated, they rust a lot, especially on the exposed bungee rails on the rear. Strip the lacquer off the forks and polish em up, as the laquer starts degrading and corroding the ally underneath..yes theres a little more effort needed to keep them polished(autosol) but the laquer keeps looking scabby if not.

As the other guys say ACF50, and also FS365, you can spray that on after a wet run, as it works with water even though its water based(weird I know but read the bottle it says it there)
WD40 anything really.....just don't worry when you start your bike and theres clouds of smoke off the engine...its normal

No bungee rails on a pointy Dizz.

Simpler idea

Enslave Neio with your womanly wiles and have him clean it after every run.

Bonus points if you get him to do it with a toothbrush

Extra bonus points for with his tongue

, err computer says no!!

As the others have said Use ACF-50, apply liberally with a paint brush to everything exposed, and then for good measure spray a layer of something like duck oil over every thing.

Use FS-365 on a wet run as well.

Dont panic they are not as bad as you think either.

Another cheap fix is to get a stainless steel engine and fairing bolt kit from ebay, and replace the prake lines with Stainless ones.

No
I really haven't had a rust problem on my 30K mile K4, apart from the front of the fork legs. That plastic film if it is strong enough to resist stone chips sounds a good idea if you are starting from forks in good condition.
