Default Brand new pointy, fell in the first corner!! What can i do?!

Hey.

Got my brand new pointy today.

The seller told me the tires could be a "bit slippery" in the start.

And in the first corner i went out. And now it needs repairs for about 1.600 EURO. (Norway)

My question is? Is the seller responsible for prepping the tires in any way before they sell it? Like degreasing them?

Shoudnt he said the "the tires are like oil the first corners?"

The speed i had was about 10kph when i went out. So the damages are only cosmetic. But the whole bike is scrached.

Im ****ing fourious, but hey. What can you do?

You are'nt the first person to do this, you wont be the last.

He did give you a warning, but sadly not enough of a one.

The best way of scrubbing in new tyres is to ride the bike as they need a few heat cycles to get all the mould release compound off of them, its not just the action of rubbing them that gets rid of it, you need to get them warm and up to temperature as well.

Must be a total p*sser new bike an all

opps...........

you cant realy blame the seller, as he did warn you, and tyres do need scrubbing first, did you hit deisel or oil in the road.

Well im wondering if the seller is in any way resposible for washing the tires off or something? I mean, i didnt have speed or turn over much. But the tire was like oil.

Just glad it happend in the first corner and not on the highway.

You kinda just have to look back and laugh at the whole think. (Even tho my wallet is crying).

Wont be able to use my insurance either, as ill loose more on that in the long run

No. The weather was fine. I had low speed and didnt lean over much. Felt like there was oil in the road. But dry and tidy.

Thats what so strange about it. Cant understand how they can sell tires like that.

Hi, welcome to the site mate.

Is the seller responsible for prepping the tires in any way before they sell it? No, its only a courteousy thing about telling you they are slippery.

Like degreasing them? No, riding them is the only way to do it properly with road tyres!

Shoudnt he said the "the tires are like oil the first corners?" The speed i had was about 10kph when i went out. Sounds like there may have been a patch of diesel or oil on the road to be honest, you have to be a complete muppet to drop it at that speed otherwise (no offence). Yes the tyres aren't as grippy from new but they will cope with mid lean angles easily at those speeds without excessive throttle movement!

Well I have only been riding for a year now.

The worst thing about is it that i coudnt have gone more slow it seems. So no matter what i would have dropped it.

I dont think the seller has done anything wrong, are you sure you were not a bit trigger happy or a bit keen on the brake?
10 kmh = 6mph is more likely to be the reason you toppled off it.

However this was discussed 2 years ago, still valid today I would think.

And dont feel so bad, do another search, you will find most people have done it at one time or another.
