Hello all, i really need your help on this one as last night i was soo frustrated over this.
![]() Ok, on sunday the regulater went over charging the batter for about 100 miles cooked it. Got the bike home fitted another regulater and change one connecter which had melted through. batter was fully charged fitted turned the ignition on and tried starting it up, it was making all the right noises the starter motor was working, but she just wouldnt start. now since sunday she hasnt been on her side or any thing like that, i changed the spark plugs about 3 weeks ago, oil change 3 weeks ago, checked all the leads from the plug they are fine, plenty of petrol in her twisting the throttle i can smell the petrol going in, but she just wont bite and start !!!! grrrrrr... really annoying. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions i would be very pleased. ![]() thanks Ash. |

any wires that have rubbed through on the frame or anything, might be causing an electrical gremlin.
What about fuses? reg / recs can blow fuses too Matt |

ive checked all the fuses, but its sounds like it wants to start if that makes sense, but it just wont! lol, all fuses are fine the bike was running absolutely perfectly on sunday, i hade it on the rolling road too and she loved it. Could it just be where its been left for 3 days where i usually use it everyday for work??

If it's trying to turn over, but not firing, that suggests two areas to look at:
- Is fuel getting to the cylinder reader for explosion? - Is power getting to the spark plug to ignite said fuel? Easy check, take out the front spark plug, hold is against the frame & hit the starter button. Do you see sparks? If you do, you need to look at the fuel system. If you don't, then it's an electrical gremlin on the way to the plugs. Just be careful when holding that spark plug, they can give quite a jolt! ![]() |
