Default Rideout - When?

We aint been on one for a while as far as I know... Damn. Just wondering if anyone might have an idea for a nice ride out some time?

All ideas welcome... well as long as they arnt too silly mind.

Cat and fiddle would be nice though we would have to behave our selves with so many coppers about. not sure what the rest of the ride could be though.

I'm planning on heading to the Cat and Fiddle way on Friday if anyone cares to join me?

Oh and any recommended routes to get there and back from Castleford, avoiding the motorways if possible?

Sounds like a plan to me... not the date, but the route.

As a very rough outline, perhaps a start near Barnsley, over to Holmefirth, Glossop, Whaley Bridge, Macclesfield, then over the cat and Fiddle to Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock, then try and work north to close out back in South Yorks?

I've only given it a few minutes thought, hence the fuzzy end, and there is an optional lopp from Glossop over the Snake Pass to Bamford before heading back to Whaley Bridge. Roughing it out on Google Maps suggests 85 miles including that section.
