The Phantom Siren

Anyone else hear this when doing motorway riding? I'm sure I'm either imagining it, or the helmet/bike has a siren-like whine to it!

I've just consulted the voices in my head. They say it's deinfintely not my mind making them up.

do you find in your mirors HID lights on new cars twinkle a little like cop cars with blues and twos on. always getting me that one

I hear the 'phantom siren' occasionally. I reckon that it's a combination of wind noise and paranoia. I don't tend to hear it these days as I now wear earplugs for all riding.

yup. esp the blue HID lights. Hate them!

+1. Used to hear it a lot more before I wore earplugs, which would suggest it is at least partially some acoustic illusion caused by wind/bike noise coming into the helmet, rather than solely psychological.
