Just got all my gear and there is a flimsy bit of foam in the back of the jacket. I want to add some back protection but Im unsure of what route to go down.
I have heard the Knox kit it well rated but im not sure if I will get lazy about putting it on, I have seen aftermarket back protectors that go into the jacket in place of the standard bit of foam. I looked at the Aplinestars one which looks well made but is very rigid and flat. The lass in the shop said it would mould to my shape over time, do they? Also Knox do one that looks like it will curve to the shape of your back better. So my question, who uses what and what are the benefits and problems with the different styles? |

I have a knox simialar to This Fella
Very comfortable, felt a bit alien the first time i wore it, but it will eventually mould to the shape of your body, and because it has a velcro waist strap it holds my stomach in ![]() As for forgetting to put it on, i have it hanging on top of my leathers in the garage, so i have to take it off the hanger to get to my leathers. Knox or forcefield always seem to get the best reviews. Best thing you can do is try several on and make sure you get it fitted by somebody who knows how it should fit.
It'll feel a bit weird to start with, but after a while you''ll get used to wearing it. I feel odd when I go out without mine on now. Also it helps keep your back warm in the winter.

Cheers for all the help guys, I think I'll go and try on some Knox and Forcefield ones on.
From what people have said and what I have read online these seem to be the best so I just need to find one thats comfortable to wear. ![]() |
