So I went for a run on Sunday, and down to me, came off, I was thinking about the next bit of the journey and not riding the road I was on, next thing there was a bend which I started to go round, although was having to brake (was me not the bike that couldn't go round) either I had to shove it over and hope for the best, carry on braking and hope it didn't tuck or go for least expensive option of run wide onto the grass and try and keep it upright.
I realise that if I had time to decide this then I probably would have made it round, I won't say target fixation didn't play a part, but I'm don't want to overanalyse, I buggared up, bikes OK dropped it at slow speed into the long grass (no visible damage) I'm OK a bit sore, and muddy leathers from the drainage diths I slid into. But is there anything, other than giving it a clean (it needed one anyway) and a look over, that I should be checking out? It rode fine the 25 miles or so home, smoked like the devil for a bit as it cleared the oil from the airbox, but I just stuck it in the garage and let it be. And it was very kind of the couple in the disco to help me get it back on the road, although his chances of owing a bike are now FUBAR acording to his wife, and the couple of cyclists who asked if I was OK who I then proceeded to choke with smoke when I caught them up later. Ta Ste

Bad luck
![]() Clean the bike up and give it a good look over. Check pressure and levels and if all is well then get back in the saddle. |

original one, tothers still sat on axle stands at my mum and dads as I didn't have the space at home.
simesb - I was hoping that was all, just wasn't sure if there were any unobvious bits to look for. All in all I'm not really bothered, I'll try and get out again this week but I'm hoping that it's not knocked me, I know it's not put me off, if all my spills end up like this I will be a happy man. It don't matter, you woulnd't have been able to get the bike out, myself and the guy who helped (twice as big as me) stuggled.
Nowts damaged so not fussed, although I may be calling on you one evening if it's fine this week to get out again. Looking back I was quite impressed actually at what I managed not to break. Although it's amusing that it got more damage on your 0mph drop than mine. It won't slow me down much, I hope. Ste Actually, yeah if we'd have gone out it wouldn't have happened, so now you feel really guitly.....fancy washing my bike for me ![]()
