Hi,
These are photos of a colleague's ever-so-slightly modified R1. Some sort of urban stealth bike rejected by the US governement last year as being "too fast", I believe, though he's sworn to secrecy by the CIA. The numbers are (dyno rolling road): Weight 130kg Power 174bhp Torque 76lb/ft @6000rpm Any comments? Apart from "May I please have a go?"

174bhp at the rear wheel or at the crank?
looks mighty fine. I wont ask for a go, cos i'll stack it into the nearest concrete wall. My dad says yamaha r1's suit me though |

Nice, but umm...130kg? He's not got any serious weight mods in that list, what's he done to lose 40kg+ from the standard bike?

No mention of lightweight aftermarket wheels. Thats an often over-looked performance increasing modification...but in hindsight, it'll turn that yam into a tankslappin' beast to rival even a TL1000s Mmmmm yamaha R1.......reliable too, nick sanders rode round the world on one. |
