Talking Photo of pretty R1

Hi,

These are photos of a colleague's ever-so-slightly modified R1.

Some sort of urban stealth bike rejected by the US governement last year as being "too fast", I believe, though he's sworn to secrecy by the CIA.

The numbers are (dyno rolling road):

Weight 130kg
Power 174bhp
Torque 76lb/ft @6000rpm

Any comments? Apart from "May I please have a go?"

Nice, but umm...130kg? He's not got any serious weight mods in that list, what's he done to lose 40kg+ from the standard bike?

good question. Changing a full exhaust system on a modern bike can save a fair bit of weight, but i didnt think standard fairings fairings weighed alot.

No mention of lightweight aftermarket wheels. Thats an often over-looked performance increasing modification...but in hindsight, it'll turn that yam into a tankslappin' beast to rival even a TL1000s

Mmmmm yamaha R1.......reliable too, nick sanders rode round the world on one.
