a lucky shot whilst on a whale watching trip on holiday...pity I missed his nose

Frikken ace! Wow must have been amazing to see them breech like that!

Where was this? I have watched Orca's in the Haro Straight off Vancouver island.

It certainly was.

We were in the Strait of Georgia off Vancouver itself so slightly further north than you were.

Awesome pic. I'm very fortunate that my parents have a house on Vancouver Island so I get to do this often. Not managed a shot as good as this yet tho!

Just out of interest, which whale watching companies did those of you that have been use?

I used Vancouver Whale Watch from Steveston Village.
