Default 'Busa pistons

Building a spare engine in an interesting fashion (well it's a few weeks 'till uni starts...)

Does anybody know, what hone needs to be taken out of the bores when fitting busa pistons?

I cant answer your question...

...but I am interested in the end product

Is this a slightly cheapish way of making a big-bore SV engine?

The worlds smallest big bore, only a hone taken out of the bores. Pistons are lighter by 17grams

Ah, gotcha. So it might rev just a smidge more easily and hence produce a bit more power I assume?

No, its reciprocating mass, so it's not exactly got the free revving effect as lightened flywheel etc. (also being considered...)

What it does do, is reduce stress on the rods due to lesser inertia.

So just a bit more reliable then?

Sortof... I'm hoping when I fit this motor after restrictions done that this will cancel out reliability penalty of tuning it to some extent.
