Default My Dad's NC24...again...

Thought I'd share with you all some more pictures of my dads project VFR400 NC24; Latelty, the forks have been refurbished, the front wheel bearings replaced, the headrace bearings replaced and a few things polished and painted.....such as this top yoke:

For those who love looking at the guts of engines...here are the top's of the gear's that drive the camshafts:

Anyone who's done valve clearances on an SV knows its a bit of a faff (although not as faffable as doing them on a VTEC honda...). The NC has an ingenious solution...simple adjusters that you can use your ordinary flat-head screw driver on. Just twiddle to adjust the vavles if they are out of the tolerance limits...no shimming required:

Might be running again by febuary

Its nothing new, that type of adjustment has been widley used, but tends need shorter adjustment times vs shims

Screw and locknut tappets was pretty much the only way to do valve clearances until about 30 years ago. The first car I saw with shims was a Dolomite Sprint I owned in the early 80s.

Bandit 1200s and 600/650s were still using screws and locknuts until recently
