IDE Cable

Hi all,

Does anyone have a spare IDE cable lying around for connecting a hard drive to a motherboard? I have bought a new hard drive with that connection and forgot I don't have the cable! I can exchange for a SATA cable if anyone wants one?!

Doh, I bought a SATA cable yesterday ...

I've got reams of them spare. Can't guarantee the timescale of my getting up into the loft though. I'll see if I can remember tomorrow & will PM you when I've dug one out.

Any preference on length?

PS. I have no need for SATA cables either, but thanks for the offer.

Thanks for replies guys - I know I could go to PC world but seems silly to go and spend £10 on a cable there when there's likely to be loads lying around in people's houses!

Don't mind on length - 40cm ish should be ok.

The reason I bought a P-ATA drive over a S-ATA drive was cos it's a pain to get my mobo to recognise S-ATA drives and it took a lot of faffing last time. I should have checked I had the correct cable first though to save more faffing! D'oh!

I'll obviously send a cheque to whoever can help out
