Dropped needles half a clip other day as it was a little rich in the midrange, slight blubbing when blipped from overrun. Nothing else changed.
Started to surge and hunt at cruise. Raised needles back to original position, problem still occurs. Thoughts? Currently looking for air leaks (quite frantically as need the bike at 7...) but any other ideas welcome.

I know it sounds totally random and might not be it but on my Bandit that I had my chain had more than one tight spot in and each time it ran through the front sprocket it was making the power pulse/surge new chain fixed it.
Just a suggestion but you have the experience ![]() |

Chain already checked, brakes are fine too, doesn't do it on the power or even with a very slight incline.
Anyway latest update there was about half a pint of gammy water in the fuel tank, very wierd for water to cause cruise problems. Going to strip and clean carbs now when I've finished me brew and try it again.

No chance the needle's not fully seated? I did that once and it popped out of its seat after a while, meaning it would occasionally jump in and out of the jet.

Had it out again since and refitted it, nothing seemed amiss. Also the roll on and 5-7k don't seem affected at all.

Cured it, turned out to be a blob of something in the pilot circuit.
