Default orange broadband

does anybody here know about orange broadband? our internet at home has gone down and orange customer services are not helpful at all. the net went down weds last week and after several calls to the technical helpline and being cut off 3 times i finally got them to do a line test, they have said there is a problem with the line and it has been disconnected at the telephone exchange.

i was told it would take no longer than 3 days to sort but im still waiting. every time i contact them they say keep telling me to restart the livebox.

the computers on the home network all say that they are connected apart from the one directly connected to the livebox. which says disabled. when i right click the icon and select enable it just says failed.

do you think orange are just fobbing me off? or do you think it is something to do with the computer?

is there any other way of trying to enable the internet on that computer as apposed to right clicking the icon in network places?

cheers

All connected to what? Can you browse the web from them? If so then its not Orange that has the problem, if no then yeah you will be waiting on BT/Orange to sort out why its been disconnected at the exchange, customer services have never been their strong point

we have got a little switch. none of the computers connect to the internet, orange reckon its a problem at the telephone exchange. i have researched on the internet and there seems to be so many people who have this problem all the time. I think orange are crap. there customer support are nonsense because no matter what you say they read the same flippin script all the time, its a useless support team in india. nobody seems to get anywhere with orange and they also never seem to get the issue sorted through them

I nearly lost my sanity over a period of several days on the phone to India after we lost our orange connection. Soon realised they were simply reading a script. After a few weeks I finally spoke to a number of helpful people in England who read another script saying it would take a few days/weeks typically 1-3 days, presumably on there next day off - they claimed due to a problem with our local exchange- cancelled my 18 month contract - one clause which allows you to cancel as they breached their contract - and sold their crappy phone on ebay which recouped some of my costs. Got connected next day with sky and not had any problems since.

Orange are crap and they aren't that cheap either, used to have them. Had the problems all the time and finally got bored and moved to a basic sky package with free braodband for £2 more per month. I generally get the speed I am quoted 2mb (for free), I did have 8mb (£5 extra per month) but for what I do it wasn't worth it.

If you don't have sky I would think about using them.

If you are thinking about getting sky I have a voucher to allow you to get Sky Plus for free.

I rang them up yesterday and what a suprise i got put straight back through to a call center in india. I said i wanted to complain and i then got transfered to customer services also in india. i told them that i was just being read a script and it wasnt solving the problem and the lady said to me she did a check whilst i was on the phone and everything was fine with the line so i needed to go back to technical.

When i got put back through to technical i was so annoyed that i asked to speak to a senior manager and was told the company orange doesnt have managers!

i kept on and on and started getting really annoyed with the lady and told her basically not to take the **** out of me and get someone from management to ring me within 4 hours. i then said if i dont get a call and the internet isnt up and running by today i would take this further.

bugger me i swear they do this on purpose to make money out of the phone calls because my internet just randomly appeared back up this morning !

i hate this company. E-mail to watchdog me thinks.....

I have had one half-hour period with sky when I was unable to connect and it was resolved very well and I found the whole process superb.

The only problem was the "Basic" sky package was in fact less than freeview, but a moan and an extra quid a month and all is good. The 2mb broadband (free) is perfectly fine for everything I need it for.
