New rider & proud owner of a curvy SV650S

Hello to all,

I am a new rider, passing my test last Friday, but I am so glad I didn't fail because over the last two days I have put loads of enjoyable miles on the clock of my curvy SV650S.

I took a few months deciding what bike to go for, comtemplating everything from a Z750 & Hornet to a GSX650F, but when my mate let me have a sneaky go on his 2007 SV650S in Darlington Football Club car park, my mind was made up. I went to Tillstons in Stockton, thinking that a new bike was the way forward, but one of my more experienced biking mates advised me not to spend too much on my first bike, so I then trawled Bike Trader and MCN for the right bike. From the 300+ miles I have done so far, I am sure I have found the bike for me!

Over the last couple of days, I have covered loads of the Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors. I enjoyed riding the Pickering to Whitby road so much yesterday, I went back along today for a go at it in the other direction. I also rode from Scarbrough to Whitby along the coast road, which was great fun. I am still relatively slow, but I have found myself getting more and more confident as the miles come and go!

I would love to join up with an organised ride out at some point. I am also glad there is this forum to discuss SV matters. I am just as inexperienced with the maintenance of bikes as I am a rider, so this website will, I am sure, be useful for that too.

hi, i did my test with a darlington company MMT? did you use them?

i live in ingleby barwick, so quite close - there are a few ppl around these parts to do a small meet up
