Default Timing Retard Eliminators (TRE) any good?

Tried searching but keep coming up blank.

As title - Do these clever little plug and play devices work? And if so, are the gains worth it?

Do a search and you will see this post in every one....

The Suzuki SV650 (Curvy and Pointy) is only very slightly retarded, there are no gains to be had other than the imaginary butt dyno thinking otherwise. It has been proven and tested a countless amout of times, it makes no performance increase!!!

The products are aimed at bikes which actual do have a lot of a ignition retard, the problem is the product list lists the SV650 in its fitting guide and everybody reads the hype and product blurb and instantly beleives it will do the same to their SV650. This is utter crap, the product description/blurb is aimed at GSXR's, etc and not the SV650!

Countless tests by proper and experienced SV650 tuners have proven it does not work and the people that say it does state the same thing "I fitted it and went for a ride a felt a real difference", this is your imaginary butt dyno telling you you have just increased the power by 10bhp because you fiddled with something!!! Utter rubbish....

oh mate come on...u been here a while now!!!

do not buy one..its a rip off....if u really want to do it go here http://www.sv650.tk/ and click on mods and it will show you step by step which wire to cut under the pillion seat for exactly the same effect....ie...nothing...well...ok mine felt smoother slightly when i done it but that was probably placebo effect!

there is another way ( the way i done it) were u cut the wire at a different point, (under the tank) but i cant remember where the link is

Alright guys, point taken. I'm not too worried about it, was just intrigued.

Must be more thorough with searches in future.

Surprised the mocking was limited...

Its mostly because the search doesn't like 3 letter words so you can't find anything.

DD maybe your cut and pasted answer could be stickyed to save any embarressment to future ppl.

Aye, but "Timing Retard Eliminators" has more than three letters.
