Google it, there are a few places where you can buy Castrol Red Rubber Grease.

thanks for the offer Chris , I have taken a gander on ebay
there is a 30ml size for 2.80 and a 100g for 4.85

I guess that a little goes a long way so the 30 ml should do me ?

Only clean calipers once a year

Does using the rubber grease stop the caliper from seizing ?

Cheers Steve

Should do if you combine that with regular cleaning - i tend just to use a tooth brush and clean brake fluid every few months, particularly in winter - the re-apply grease before you push the pistons back. They'll still need stripping every few years if you ride through winter.

Yeah but you still need to strip them properly every now and again, you still get corrosion and unpleasantness behind the seals even if you clean the pistons regularly.

For what it's worth, castrol aren't the only people who make red rubber grease. I have a tub of Fuchs red rubber grease.

+ 1, RRG isn't a replacement for servicing the brakes.

Aye, yeah sorry my fault but this is what I have always used and tend to call it Castrol.

bought 100g off ebay for £8 delivered.

I imagine a take off and clean 3 times a year (Sep, dec/Jan, April) will be enough and a full strip down every 3 years will keep the calipers going forever.
