Default Expansion Bottle overfill

Yup I filled mine up to far, read the other thread about but that was for a carbed bike, mine is in injected.

Is it the same method for getting water out of there? Don't really want to take the rad cap off as then I will have to my lowers off. It should all be fine, as I haven't done anything with the coolant since I had the bike, just noticed it was little low. Its is dam hard to see the level on the bike!

Agree with above, if you can be bothered siphon the excess from the expansion bottle, otherwise the excess will sort itself out when the motor gets hot, which will mean there'll be a puddle under your bike, dunno if that bothers you of course.

Dizzyblondes bike seemed to run very hot with the expansion bottle overfilled. Not entirely sure why.

Me neither, but it wouldn't be 'cos the expansion was overfilled. The bottle contents, (as you know I'm sure), are open to atmosphere, the specified level is chosen simply to be an amount that's small enough that it won't overflow when the engine is at max temp, and big enough that the system won't be under volume when properly cold.
When the engine is hot the coolant expands and flows out to the bottle, at that point there could be a gallon or none at all in excess, it makes no difference to the cooling system function.

Indeed. I'm not sure whether there was a carburetion fault at the same time, which could explain it running hot. You could feel serious heat coming off the motor anyway.
