Default can a VIN shown as scrapped be used again on the road?

i ask amongst the muptiple frames i have in my shed i know one of them is registered all ok, but doig a chassis check it comes back as 'scrapped'. this is NOT any form of insurance writeoff i.e CAT A/B/C/D etc.

question is ( and i ask as ive never looked into it) is is relatively easy to get it un-scrapped with the dvla and back on the road?

or is it a ball-ache including having a SVA test etc...?

cheers

Only if PNC shows "destroyed" it means it is unroad worthy (so my training course today told me) - been set on fire etc.

When you say scrapped, what is the extact terminology used.

The HPI will relate to the vehicle registration won't it? Dosen't the scrapped flag just mean the vehicle's been taken apart? Surely it can't mean all it's parts are unserviceable - how would breakers operate otherwise?

If you fitted the frame onto a different, already registered vehicle it should be fine - just another spare part, fill in the V5 (change of frame number).

If you want to re-reg the frame as a "new" vehicle it might be more difficult - almost certainly an SVA and you might have problems if you don't want a Q plate as it's not new - I understand from the experience of my boss (who built his own kit car) that generally you need to prove history of every part to get a new age related reg, old or new.

I'm (procrastinating about) fixing up an old Yamaha FZ600 to get myself fully back on the road.
