I've got an Arai Astro R helmet.
With the pinlock insert attached to the visor, the extra thickness that the pinlock's sealing ridge gives means that the visor doesn't shut fully, it catches the rubber seal along the top of the visor opening. It also means that the pinlock gets pushed around against the ridge, meaning it leaks slightly, and has got a bit of a mark where pinlock and visor rub. Anyone else have a problem like this? Hopefully you get what I mean! |

Its a genuine pinlock, specifically for Arai helmets.
Just noticed that there is a sticker on the packet it came in which states 'Extra high version - racing lens'. This means its got a bit that goes up between the vents on the visor - this is the bit that catches, and I guess is my problem? |

Yep, that's definately your problem.
The Arai insert does come in 2 versions Standard and Race. Although the race helmets are identical the race visor is taller to give a slightly bigger field of vision. You just need to get the standard version. I've used these before and they've been spot on. http://www.racevisors.co.uk/category...s-pinlock-arai |

Something that may help a bit . Try rotating the pinlock cams around a bit so that the insert sits a bit lower down . Another thing to try is loosen the side pods off slightly and then slam the lid shut , tighten the pods up in place .

Just took the visor off, cleaned it up, tried to adjust the pinlock nicely. Spent an hour trying to get the visor back on.
Lubed the seal and it seems slightly more obliging. The pods are the annoying clip on ones - not adjustable. |

The screws that hold the pods in can be slackened off a smidge , the holes they locate through on the White plastic bits are over size you see , that way you can locate the visor in place then remove it carefully and tighten up the see through plastic screws , that`s how the Arai techs do it and sorted my old Tour-X out for me that way

My clear Arai visor has the same pinlock insert - it certainly catches when opening or closing the visor, but it doesn't stop it completely.
