Ok, so I require a new front tyre. But will probably just get rear changed aswell as I will be changing front from factory Dunlop, so might aswell get a pair.
Im looking at getting Avon Storms fitted. I have a replacement front wheel as the current one is marked. So do I switch over the brake discs etc before I get the tyre changed or do they just balance a bare wheel with tyre? ![]() |

I'm no expert on this but i would have thought it'd make sense to get it balanced with everything on it that it would normally have when in use, obviously the disks/bolts/bearings could effect the balance of the wheel itself so balancing it with all the running gear on it would mean you get a perfectly balanced wheel for riding on.
I'm sure someone with a tad more knowledge/experiance will be along shortly, i was going with the logical approach. |

balance the wheel in the state you're going to fit it to the bike, or as close as

In theory it should all be balanced as it will be fitted - in this case meaning with the discs, in reality it won't make a measurable difference.

Thats the thing with all tyres, until you try them you won't know if they suit you and your needs. Tyres are a personal preference, a lot of people rate all sorts of tyres that I find horrible on the SV and they same the same about the Avon's.
Quote:
I wouldn't say they are terrible and you would need to change them straight away... I wouldn't recommend them to be fitted as a second set simply because there are so many better tyres out there... |
