Default Some things garunteed to make your SV feel better.

Here are some simple maintainence tips to try with your SV if its feeling a bit lag:

1) oil level - if its low, top it up. I did on saturday, and my engine runs alot smoother

2) chain - clean it, lube it, adjust it.

3) clutch - clean it, adjust it, lube it

4) tyre pressures - make sure your rear isnt 31 psi like mine was this morning. I find 34 front and 38 rear with my BT012's feels good

What part of your clutch did you lube? The plates lol?

Yea, those bits.

My SV was feeling pretty crap last week, so saturday had me clean and lube stuff (clutch cable, clutch worm-drive, the spring was lubed). felt much better afterwards. Felt soft before, like I was compressing the worm drive against a block of rubber...horrible, no feeling in the clutch really. Gear changes were pretty poo aswell, so the chain clean and lube helped out alot with that

Aye once I've ground my mastercylinder to bits in frustration and bought a new one and finished sorting out the brakes I need to pay my clutch some attention.

Try jacking up your front wheel a*hero and spinning it by hand to see if there is any brake drag. I thought mine were fine but after hearing a knocking noise did this and found the brakes were dragging the disc about. That'll do some good.
