Default Maintenance

When I bought it it bucked about badly. That's what they do, though, isn't it. Then I adjusted the chain and the throttle cable - big improvement.

Some significant vibration at about 8000 which I assumed I was stuck with. But when I balanced the throttle bodies - hey presto.

Still harsh at the front but that's what they are like, isn't it. Replaced the fork oil - you could almost say it's plush. The GSXR600 shock helped that, too.

Broke the brake pedal and in fixing it I greased and re-assembled the peg and lever. Much nicer.

Today I stripped the front brakes, cleaned the winter corrosion off the pistons and the pins that the pads slide on and greased them. I cannot believe how much feel it has now.

Isn't maintenance a good thing!

Yep maintenance is a brilliant thing, roll on next week for my caliper strip and rebuild!

It certainly is - it's amazing how much difference a small amount of effort and very little money can make.

You often don't even have to do anything special - just make sure everything works like it should and a bike feels great.
