Default Not a lowering question, quite the reverse - how to get more room?

Okay peeps...

As everyone is well aware, there are certain modifications you can do to an sv to make it suitable for the shorter legged rider.

Can you therefore do the opposite??

I would desperately love to keep the Evil Raspberry, but due to my long inside leg and previous crash injuries getting worse...I need MORE leg room between the seat and the pegs.

Is this possible without de-stablizing the ride?? How would this be possible? Has anyone done it successfully?

Also the next thing I'd do is raise the handlebars with bar risers (for which I've already found out what to get and where from).

This seems the only viable option in order for me to keep the Raspberry, and not sell her...

You can lower the pegs with some adapter plates. You'd reduce ground clearance, but it could give you the room you need.

THey look like this and you can often find them on ebay.

And you can fit Buell footrests, they are slightly offset and lower about an inch, add that to the plates mentioned above and you could possibly lower the pegs two inches.

So for the avoidance of doubt, and given the esteemed posters above didn't mention it, shorter dogbones to jack up the rear won't actually increase the seat to peg lenth? *

*not really but someone might be mistaken

edit Actually I reckon it would, although the more pronounced affect would be towards the rear.
Clanger have you got a K3* already

Stu, surely you realise dogbones are more about adjusting the seat height from the floor, not the pegs...

I'm pretty sure the overall seat height isn't the OP's problem, but they feel a little cramped whilst riding?

Maybe stuff some more foam into the seat instead of cutting it out though.

Dog bones control where the swingarm sits in relation to the frame. Raise the rear swing arm a foot, (and as the seat and pegs are both attached to the frame) the seteg distance would still be the same.

silly question if you jacked up the rear then put the peg extenders on would that offset the clearance issue ?

You give me more credit than I'm due

G2D has a good explanation that the seat & pegs are both on the frame so move together with dog bones.

Just one slight mistake as they move the front of the swing arm - you need a larger diameter wheel & tyre to raise the rear of the swing arm

DaveP yes, lower the pegs then jack up with dog bones
