Prefer a solo blast to a group scratch? Discourage pillions with talk of a dangerous back seat?
OR Do you like the social activity of riding in a group, rallies, ride-outs and sharing the thrill with a pillion? Which one is it and why? |

I'll have the "my finger is in every pie" option.
![]() I like the laugh/social side to group rideouts, I like being in a small group of riders that I know well. I like taking pillions, and I like riding solo. Pace wise, I like riding slow to look at the scenery, and I like hooning like a loon now & again (not on public roads obviously). Why? I guess I just like being on two wheels. I will say that I don't really like short journeys on the bike... |

To start things off I'm divided in half. I really enjoy solitary riding to work during the week. Maybe it's the romantic image of the lone rider, solitary knight, a man on a mission. Maybe the time alone to reflect on problems, a valve to the everyday pressures when you mix marriage, jobs and children. Where better to escape than to a world where speach is redundant and your concentration is pitched high enough to blot out everything but the bike and the surrounding environment? Then it's good to be alone.
Come Sunday it's nice to communicate with like minded people though. Nice to find friends who have become next to relatives waiting for you at the usual meet. Nice cold beer in hand discussing if what Joe did to his bike makes sense or looks cool. Nice to ride back home amongst a dozen bikes or more at a modest pace, owning the road and playing race and catch-up without wanting to be a swat and leave the group behind. |

On my own.
Go where I want, when I want, stop when I want ride how I want to ride and not have to worry or feel like I have to take responsiblity for those around me especially if I have organised or am leading the rideout.
