handlebar uprise for SV650S?
Hi everybody!
I just bought my ride (SV650S) and litlle bit fed-up of the racing-riding position. Do you know is there any kits to uprise my handlebar for more relax longway trips? Or any ideas? Thanx alot - have a safe rides to everyone. |

there are kits.
'helibars'? You probably could just get a naked top yolk fitted and handlebars/renthals. Not sure which is easiest/cheapest though.

Helibars, or you can put on the top yoke from a naked SV and match it with nice wide Renthal bars. There is a bespoke kit for the SV, for a handlebar conversion...ive forgotten the company though

Re: handlebar uprise for SV650S?
I have fitted an uprise kit to my SV650S K6 - got the kit from website 998cc.org - comes with yoke, risers. Renthalls, extended throttle cables and braided lines. Looks great and riding position brilliant.

ABM comfort kit but is expensive at about £308.http://www.streetfighterstore.co.uk/...bars/307#price
heli bars are a little cheaper but still expensive but I don't know how much a naked conversion would cost. |

heli-bars are great as you get a decent riding position without changing any of the cables or lines. Very easy to fit as all you've got to do is take the top yoke off remove the original clipons and put the heli-bars on.

I tried riding with clipongs the other day..how the hell do you chuck it into corners?
I love my big wide bars.

have you considered higher rise clip-ons rather than the full naked handle bar route?

Re: handlebar uprise for SV650S?
I have something similar to Helibars, better comfort than OEM. But apparently Yamaha FJ1200 fit Sv fork stantions and can be picked up on EBAY for a lot less than Helibars or ABM conversions.
They have a similar rise to helibars In fact I have a pair I've never got round to fitting, as I have a GSXR front end to fit. The only modification required is to drill and tap a thread for the brake reservior bolt somewhere on the right hand clip on. There have been posts on the org about this mod
