Royal Mail Muck Up!
Posted an exhaust to l3nny last Tuesday, recorded delivery.
Been a week, and the tracking code only tells me its been accepted at my local branch. Phone up for more infomation.. First Class Recorded = 1-2 days.. They only consider this as lost 18 days after it should have arrived, the 18th of May. Phoned repeatly(sp?), all I get is, it will only get tracked if the sorting offices are efficient enough to scan them. In other words, if the can be ar$ed. Anyone know of anything else I can do in the meantime to try and find out where the parcel is? Theres no issue with dodgy packaging, securely and safely packaged, so that shouldn't have been an issue. L3nny checked down his local sorting office in case theyre holding it for unapparant reasons, but nothing there.. Am I worrying too much, or are these bar stewards always late on delivering? Parcel goes from North East Scotland, to Warwick if thats any help. Cheers, David. |

Re: Royal Mail Muck Up!
In my experience parcels generally arrive pretty quick or very late, if it's gone walkies for a while it might well turn up in a week or two
Sucks when it happens but so long as it's insured you'll both get your money back, eventually!!!

If you paid for insurance you'll get your money back If you didn't then you've got to decide between the two of you who's going to lose out because RM will only pay for something like £36 of compensation in that case...

Re: Royal Mail Muck Up!
The mother posted it, as I was at work.
Theres a value of £39 which is on the reciet, which has no bearing to anything tbh. Could be the maximum claim amount? Just annoying thats all.. :\ |

Re: Royal Mail Muck Up!
Ye recorded signed for delivery ain't insured 'cus that's seperate (AFAIK). Signed for is just to make sure the right person signed i know someone who did the same with a few cds that got lost.
I'm sure it'll turn up... in my experience with D(rop it)H(ide it)L(ose it), you only have to worry when it hasn't left your local depot. This just means the guy in the van has lost it and it hasn't been signed at the destination, if it's at the destination, you should be ok. Maybe L3NNY could check out his local sorting office? |

Re: Royal Mail Muck Up!
depends if it's went via Sighthill (Edinburgh) sorting office as there was stikes there last week (although royal mail claim that this would not cause any disruptions, I'm waiting on something too)

Re: Royal Mail Muck Up!
Just so happens that my Mum runs the Post Office in Alford - which is also a delivery office.
I gave her a yell, she said that there is no way the parcel can go through the system without being tracked therefore it must be still at the delivery office on the system. Where are you a bit more exactly? Having just seen the bit about the strike, that could explain it too - along with the long weekend. Oh, and if it IS lost then that £39 is all you can claim.....
