basically my choke had been stuck for quite a while, so i decided the time had come to take it off and clean the plungers etc. when i undid the rear retaining screw, everything fell out, including the end of the cable where it'd obviously broken. all springs etc intact on the rear one.
when i came to get the front one out the plunger is stuck in the hole, with the cable end still in it. i've butchered the cable to make things easier to work with so now i've got just the short bit of cable with the metal sheath, the black plastic bit and the spring hanging out of the hole, but the plunger itself still won't come out. the bike has no MOT at the minute and i'd like to get it done as soon as possible, i've now thought about just wacking the spring and plunger back in there and leaving it until the MOT is done, as i've not bought a replacement cable yet. is there anything to stop me doing this? cheers, benj |

take the carbs off, give it a good scoot with carb cleaner , leave it a while then pull it out-
run it like it is and it'll be running like mince. |
