hmm not sure what to make of it really but i've just seen my job description on the internet! So were not that busy that we need another person and we dont have the space in the office. So im guessing that means that one of us is going? engineering is very poor at the moment so what do i do?

if they make you redundant they cannot re-instate your job for 6 months.

that said if they sack you they can replace you straight away.

not sure what to suggest...

They can't sack someone with no good reason and then employ someone else. I'd speak to your boss about it - it might be a mistake. You might at least get some idea if he's hiding something.

Go ahead have a look at other jobs available, but you'll be hard pushed. Matts been looking for stuff, graduate engineering jobs have gone from 50 on a website, to nil. Hard times!
Hes having to suffer in a chocolate factory being paid the same wage as his unqualifed Mrs, much to the disappointment of our plans for the year

is there a date stamp on the job listing? Sometimes the vacancies just sit on the net for years after they've been filled...

failing that, go speak to a supervisor and find out what the score is... have you mentioned it to any of your colleagues? I'd keep a wee bit quiet about it so as not to start fires/cause trouble etc...
