Default another TV question, wearing specs

We have a few LCD TVs.

In the lounge I have a 1080p Sharp Aquos system, blue ray etc.

in my bedroom a Hitachi 1080i tv

When I wear my specs, the system in the bedroom is ok, but in the lounge everything looks blotchy. changes into 2 different pairs of bins. the posh tv looks crap. without the bins looks great.

BTW I don't need the bins to watch telly.

old fashioned tv with a tube looks ok. just seems to be a few lcd screens. my lads tv was the same. why?

It is as if the number of colours is reduced, like the cheap effects that they used to do on top of the pops 30 years ago, very strange.

At first I thought it was anti glare coatings etc messing about

Not so helpful as i'm 32 my earliest pop memory is either adam and the ants or siouxsie and the banshees and even then i must've been about 3 or 4
