Maternity Hospital

A stab in the dark but just wondering if anyone knows what would be the nearest maternity hospital for somebody living in Bracknell, Berkshire to be admitted to?

Am concerned about a friend who phoned me as she had gone into labour early on Tuesday morning and I`ve heard nothing since. House phone not being answered and her mobile switched off.

As I`m not familiar with the hospitals in the area any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Heatherwood hospital is fairly close, but I'd imagine that there are a fair few choices as it's pretty densely populated around there. Tara might have a better idea.

Thanks guys... I was hoping that it would be like my area where we only have 2 maternity units to cover the area.

Don`t know if it helps at all but she lives in Bracknell and I know it was only a 20 min drive to the maternity unit from home.

Heatherwood stopped admitting last year they do the antenatal stuff but no labours now

Claire it will be Frimley Park
the one at Reading the names escapes me or it will be Wexham at Slough

then it could be any of the 3 i mentioned

sorry not much help i know i would think its either Frimley Park or Wexham, Reading is a bit further out

Many thanks Tara, it is a help.... I`ll try Frimley Park patient admissions first and see if she`s there, if not i`ll try the wexham one.

Many thanks Tara.... I`m just worried as I know she`d have called me as soon as she possibly could and it`s been some time now. I know some women can have long labours but 48 hours + seems a very long time

it does seem a long time, I hope that a) you find her and b) that she and the baby are both well
