Default News story link - death crash horror gore etc etc all on video.

Found a brief summary of this story on another website and followed the link to the Daily Mail article.

Well, i can understand some comments - those sorts of speeds really should stay in the confineds of the race track, or the autobahn (or the mountain section of the IOM)

A sad story, its not nice for someone to die, but come on....at those speeds? its not responsible ownership of a motorcycle. We all have moments like that (im not saying im perfect) but there are better places to do that kinda stuff, a single-lane carrigeway isnt one of them

Is it just me, or does it look like the car in front of the bike started to overtake the white car in front and has pushed the bike into oncoming traffic (probably couldn't be bothered to check mirrors let alone a shoulder check)?

Why don't they show the vid?

At first I was going to say something similar to A* but reading between the lines it would seem that although he was doing ridiculous speeds (156mph) and yes those speeds should only be reached on a track, the speed at the accident was roughly 100mph and that is a bit closer to some of the speeds a lot of us do especially on an overtake.

Lets take the 170mph number that's bounded about out of the news story and you are left with biker doing 97mph on a overtake clips car and dies. All of a sudden becomes a lot closer to the common biker than the 170mph figure.

Thats what it looks like to me about the car..

Maybe they do not show the video because it was the driver in the car's fault (they were speeding in essence) and the courts / media want to use it as a strong message about speeding?

But, in fairness to his family I would rather not have that video published.

Well, it definitely is. I'm one of those who think showing that kind of stuff will make some people think before riding like a ****.

+ I still think he was forced into oncoming traffic by the car in front. The vid would show what happened, instead of that we have another "biker dead" news article.

I thought that, the dark car looks as though it has moved right over, as just before it looks like there is plenty of width to get through the gap.

But we can speculate all we want we will never know what really happened.
