Bassets Pole, Tuesday, loads of bikes, but loads of idiots

The Waterman, Wednesday, still plenty of bikes and some interesting stuff like nice paint jobs, nitrous Busa's, classic bikes, some nice modding, etc.

If you fancy a longer run the diner at Long Itchington is Thursday nights, but I've never been.

I went last night. Got there about 8:30.
Can't believe:
A. How many bikes and people were there and
B. Like Ralph said how many idiots there were. I'm really not surprised why bikers get a bad name after what I saw last night .
Was speaking to one of the waitresses in the pub and she was saying the police set up cameras the day befor on the roundabout. not sure if this is true or not? She also said there was a nasty accident a couple of weeks ago involving a bike and an HGV.
Sorry for the derail.
On a more positive note, ther are some gorgeous bikes there, saw a pristine CBX1000 which sounded fantastic. Just the lunatics that fly down the dual carriageway on one wheel with only jeans and a vest on.

There has been a police van sat on the dual carriage way recently, one the odd weeks. You get police cars / bikes sat down side roads off the main drags up to there.

.. and there was an accident I know of with a ZX6R caused by the bump as you go into the pub car park, pretty nasty but it wasn't rider fault, bike scraped the bump and flew off? Don't know how.

These guys are not bikers, ie: they don't hold any passion for bikes. They only ride powerful bikes (usually old litre sportsbikes) 'cos they think it's cool, it's the biggest thrill on the road, and all their mates do it. The bike is kind of a status symbol for them. If all their mates started buying Quads and pulling wheelies on those, they'd drop two wheels and buy a Quad like a shot. You won't see them wandering round admiring the CBX1000, or going to the NEC bike show, they are not interested in bikes other than to go fast and behave like idiots.

Tuesday night Bassets Pole is probably the only time they ride their bikes, so they can go there, show off, and shout loudly to their mates what speed they got up to on the dual carriageway on the way there.

As you said and the general public and politicians see this and tar us all with the same brush.

Don't get sucked in James, it can't be the bumps fault! If there was no other bike involved it has to be the rider. We can all ride over a bump without falling off as hundreds of bikes ride over than one to get in and out of the car park every Tuesday night. If the bike scraped the bump the rider was going too fast or doing something stupid.

Not sure if you mean Stratford or Stafford??

If you mean Stratford I wouldn't bother, the council are on a mission to get rid of all the bikes, you now get fined for parking on the Waterside. There is a specific bike park they have made but it's outside the town centre oposite the leisure centre.

If you do go and park on the waterside make sure you cover your numberplate, you will see a few of the hardcore on there still with numberplates covered but if you ask me it's not worth it.

Well it's not that far out of the town and you still get a few bikers hang around there but IMO it's not really worth the trip

Here It is
