Hi orgers, how do you feel this would compare to a pointy, and do you think it seams worth the money?.

faster & more comfortable, but way less "wiggly" in the bends, not much improvement in the suspension dept either, for a 12year old bike, way over priced, much better out there I'm afraid, I wouldn't.
Cheers Mark.

Oh it has a blinder of an engine, and a great motorway machine, but compared to a pointy or curvy, it'll be a bit of a slug, as to value, I got a 2005 Triumph Speed four (better suspension and handling than either the SV or the ZZR) for £2k as some idea of what's out there.
perhaps if you give a brief outline of what you're after, you could get some recomendations ? Cheers Mark.

was looking for something similar to pointy but definately comfier, i noticed not sure if on all but the later zzr's had fully adjustable suspension, the seat height is a bit taller should help the knees, my next bike so far might be a sprint st, tiger, or tdm (used to have a tdm 850), or smilar. would like gixxer etc but not exactly an all rounder, and i carry a pillion at least 50% of the time. at the other end of the scale a kawasaki vn800/900 classic.
heck that means i need at least five bikes lol. |

well that's at least three different types you've covered.
I like TDM's and have worked on a friends for a couple of years now (the 900), well under rated bike and good value for money, but won't impress most people, and as you say you've had one already. the last of the ZZR6's were for the American market and actually old style ZXR6's re-badged, a bit roomier than the latest crop of ss600's. Tiger nice, but it's either the last of the older style (955i with alloy wheels) or the new 1050, but a bit tall, the new 1050 is a good alrounder, t heavy but carries it's weight well when on the move, and a great pillion machine, but if you could find a good 955i version that's good to, don't forget Triumphs are an insurance group cheaper to. VN's never really floated my boat, lazy engine, but as single minded as a supermoto or something. Cheers Mark.

zzr600 run away there horrible dont corner and rust to bits also a bit of a nightmare to work on (ceased bolts) but they are f ing fast in a straight line and comfyer than a pointy also you mrs wouldnt love ya after a long ride on one its also scareily over priced
try the daytona t595 as you know i want one and would suit all the requirements you have plus you can get good ones for cheap enough |

VFR750/800. You can get them around the £2000 mark easy. Nice smooth engine, easy handling, good 2 up... some say a little dull but Ploppy loved hi it seems.
The 955i's... My dad likes his Sprint ST a lot. Smooth and powerful (well ~110bhp at the wheel!) should suit your needs. Tend to get better reviews than the VFR's too... The Daytona also looks like a nice bike, but will be a bit more on the sporty side. Go try one. ![]() Last edited by ThEGr33k; 14-08-09 at 12:22 PM. |
