Smile Can you wash bike boots? Can you?

....in the washer, clunkety clunk? What about wrapping them/stuffing them with towels, zip tying them together and putting em in on a low setting, and not spinning em?

In the bath with a little warm water and gentle soap?

In the garden with a pressure washer!!?

Mainly cos the inner lining is now a odd shade of dirty white. Smells a touch fragrant also, but I can live with that.

Instructions lost a long time ago.

Sidi something-or-others.

Please advise if you've done any of this, or if this is just a good way of destroying some perfectly otherwise useful boots...

BANG - and the dirt is gone?

Which ones? Are they goretex? I'd suggest simple old elbow grease and leather cleaner if its just the leather inside thats dirty and maybe some febreeze to kill the stink.

I use odour eaters foot powder...only the powder is any good mind and its as hard to find as hens teeth! I have to order 4 at a time from my local LLoyds chemist. Chuck loads in and bang it about to get it into all the nooks ann crannies, leave over night, tip out excess and wear. Kills all known stinks i find.

HTH.

If they don't stink to high heaven, and aren't covered in oil, grease, fluids, dirt and mud, they aren't biker boots

thats my excuse..

I'm sure i've read somewhere that the best way to get rid of the smell is to seal them in a bag and put them in the freezer over night. Something to do with the cold killing the germs that causes the smell, also meant to work well with gloves, not tried it myself yet but has anyone else heard this before.

They're goretex in places, yup. Tried a bit of bicarbonate of soda overnight, that tends to keep the stench down for a few weeks. Not found/seen odoureater powder - search is on.

I really should have gone to Sunday school more.

So ... anyone been brave enough to machine wash these beasts without requiring either new boots and/or a new machine? I like washing things that you can just dry without ironing, like pants and socks. Not shirts, mind, they're hard.

Cold temperatures don't kill germs and bacteria, it just makes them inactive.
It could work, I am not that technical to explain that..

You wont either mate, you have to ask them and they'll lokk at you blankly. Ask them to get that big book they have of brands/products and they'll find it and be able to order it from their suppliers for you.
Costs about £4 a tub but each one lasts me well over 6months so its great value...one of the reasons i think they stopped selling it, it worked too well, lol.
