Default Buying an Exhaust from the US - MOT Question

I'm thinking of buying an exhaust from the US for my CBR, but just had a thought about the bike getting through an MOT, what does it need to get through an MOT?

There are currently no UK stockists for these exhausts, hence the reason I am thinking of getting one from over the pond.

Now the rules are that it must not be stamped "not for road use" and must not be appreciably louder than the original system fitted to the bike.

MOT isn't a problem, as long as you have a good MOT station.

What you might have a problem with is the old bill, no 'BS' or 'E' stamp means 'Not For Road Use'

DD - I've said this before welcome back.

Could I get them to put a snide BS mark on it?

They are quite amiable.

I reckon that if you were to do that it would have to believable. ie not excessively noisy.

But, I wonder what the penalties are for counterfeiting either of those standards marks.

This http://www.american-v.co.uk/news/news/pdfs/AMV18_5.pdf suggests 1000 pound fine but more worrying potentially done for no insurance.
