They don't have a secific person to claim off, that's why! They knew who had damaged the road in this case, so knew who to chase for some cash.

Not very sympathetic though.

at least the sheep died so it can't do it again!!!!! bit of a bummer for the poor bloke though......
could he not pass the bill on to the farmer whose sheep it was??

Er, isn't that what insurance is for?

Surely the council should try & claim the cost of the damage from his insurer if they're going to try & claim it at all?

I'd still argue that 'I already pay road tax so I'm already paying for the road to be repaired' though...

yep its standard... I would sue the farmer for the sheep roaming dangerously, shame it didn't roast the sheep at the same time... could have waited for the ambulance and had some food..

Uh, go and take a pickaxe to the temporary road surface, drive over it, get whiplash and damamge the steering/suspension of your car and put in a claim for £2000!
