Default this may be a daft question - leathers.

i'am thinking of buying my 1st set of leathers but would like to know the following:
1, which is best 1 piece or 2 piece?

2, do you wear normal clothes underneath? if so do the sizes take this into consideration or do you buy chest size etc as measured when fully clothed?

cheers

1 or 2 piece both have their benefits.

I prefer a 1 piece as its comfire and the wing doesnt get in anywhere and offers more protection,

2 piece are generally cooler and easier to use on a day to day basis.

You can wear undies or go commando under your leathers.
I usually wear a thin baselayer as its easier to get in and out, also stop sweaty balls from sticking to the insides.

Go into your local store and try on a few different makes and sizes (bear in mind if you want to wear a back protector or other armour you need to have a little more space underneath.
sizing and cuts vary quite a bit from different makers.

hope that helps.

I have 2 piece, wish I had one piece.

The zip has had a fair bit of use and no longer really hlds them together very well which is annoying.

Pleasure

Something also worth thinking about is how often you will be wearing them off the bike.

If your going to bike meets etc, then a 2 piece can be more user friendly.
As I have already said I wear a 1 piece and usually end up at meets with the top hanging down past my waist where I have taken them off.
The best of both worlds would be to get both but this can be very costly.

i wear a 2 piece and wear full clothes under as well, leather stretches enough, best when you turn up to a bike meet on a warm summer day you can take your jacket off. but still have the warmth in winter.

I wear textiles as I can't afford decent leathers, but though it may be worth adding to this thread.

I believe some tracks will not allow riders with two-piece suits, therefore that may also need to be a consideration, if you're planning on heading to a track any time in the not-so very distant future.

I wear a one piece too and from work. I comfortably wear my shirt and trousers underneath my suit. Would only buy another suit from now on, be warned tho they can give you a bit of extra confidence.
