I'm just trying to get the rear wheel off the XR, something I've done plenty of times before on my Suzuki SV and GSX-R. I've undone the axle nut, and given the axle a light tap through until it is flush with the swing arm, but no amount of pulling and waggling from the other side will move the axle any further (the rear wheel is off the floor).
Am I missing a trick here? Any help/suggestions extremely welcome. |

is the chain loosen off?
if the chain is tight the back wheel will hold the axle bolt tight if you have forgotten this. if you havent brake disc cleaner on axle bolt will make it slide out easy enough and when it drys its no longer slippery. |

Yep the chain is loose, everything is waggling about nicely. I'm going to try and find a suitable drifting device and a few more "technical taps".

get a bar the same diameter and a hammer.
line them up and hit it the bar with a hammer, should knock it free easy enough. |

Some gentle technical tapping, tugging and a bit of crowbarring of the anti axle spin device had it out, although it looks pretty clean and no corrosion so hopefully with a little greasing it'll slide back nicely.
Cheers for the help. |

I had the same on my Beta. It wasn't corroded but enough crap had gone in to cause the same thing. A load of grease of some sort on the way back in, then.
