I'm thinking of taking my bike off the road for winter. (first time in a long time) now I have a garage, If I do should I also put a cover over it to protect it ?
two trains of thought... Should I use an Oxford waterproof cover ? or an old double bed sheet ? what would you use, if any, or may be a different choice.

Richie does your garage get damp ?
If so the stormex might be the better bet. IIRC it is breathable. Otherwise just use an old dust sheet IMHO.

Right I've looked at it and it's defo not breathable, as I tried to breath through it...
![]() it just says Oxford product on it.. Right, I think I'll just use the dust sheet.

Dust sheet will do you just fine ..... maybe air the sheet once a week, open the garage door to air the garage from time to time, or get a fan heater going on there from time to time ..... just to keep as much moisture off the bike as possible !!
I know if I was to lay my bike up in the garage I'd be constantly checking and admiring it .... warming the engine through, and generally fussing over it !! |

Ive got a triumph dust cover over the daytona and an old bedsheet covering up the mud on the KTM.

And in the same light , wouldn`t this just be creating more condensation in the bikes vicinity as it cools down and has a sheet thrown over it at some point ? . If it`s a short Winter layoff then the Battery on an Optimate/Optimiser would suffice and a bit of ACF50 to keep any corrosion at bay .
