Default Activating a new battery?

Just bought a new Yuasa YT12A-BS off ebay. Ive read it will need to be activated and charged.

Will a oxford 360t conditioner be ok for the job?

Activating is easy, just put the acid pack onto the battery and push, leave it 1/2 an hour and put the cap on

I'm assuming the Oxford thing is similar to an Optimate?

if so, then yes it will do the job with no problem.

Some google results suggest this is a gel battery, some say it comes with acid.

If it is an acid battery, add acid according to instructions - it will fizz a bit - then leave for several hours until it is cool before sealing the tops. This is the activation bit.
It needent need charging if its going straight into service, but yes, a conditioner will do the job just fine.

Follow the instructions that will come with the battery...

Different manufacturers have different methods, follow the one your manufacturer recommends...

I'm pretty sure it's not a gel battery and is activated with an acid pack, like Tim says.
