Default How they deal with the snow in Toronto!

Apart from the usual plows and salt trucks, they have five of these:

The 'MetroMelt', it drives along scooping up snow and dumping it into a big tank in the back where it's melted and the clean water dumped down the storm drains. The result? Clear roads, no snow drifts, no salt, at a rate of 150 tons of snow per hour. An impressive thing to watch in action!

The drain outside my house is half-clogged with compacted garbage and leaves and dirt, and has been for quite some time. Further down the street a lake forms after any rainfall. I remember walking past this lake and noticing a drain was clogged with leaves. I nudged some of the leaves out of the way with my shoe and immediately huge amounts of water started draining away.

Toronto can't spare even one MetroMelt, they get 125cm (over 4 feet) of snow a year. And Montreal gets 225cm (almost 7.5 feet!) a year. Get over yourself, 'Frozen Britain'

I know! This country cant cope with any extreme of weather. Including leaves falling off trees, it seems to catch them by surprise every year

Too much rain and it floods, you'd think the one thing brits could deal with is rain, but no.

too much sun and its a drought and a hosepipe ban. An island suffers a drought where countries in the middle east are never short of water.

WFT goes on here

well just wait till all this snow melts and then we'll back to all the chat about flooding and flood defence systems! can't win in the country whether it be sun, rain, wind or cold we can't deal with any! Which is worrying considering we can get all in one day!

If ever there was time to attack the uk then its now, we are fookin useless and a shower of ****e when it comes to snow and ice. The whole country needs to man the fook up and cope like every other european nation does.

Geeze the nation that once ruled 1/3 of the planet bought to its knees by some snow.

Who'd want to? Almost half the country is overrun with southerners, you can't afford petrol any more and the number of pubs serving a decent pint is reducing all the time. Unless foreign aggressors just want to come sledging?
