I thought this may apply to us curvy owners

Between this and a careful look at a bike carb you could get a half decent working knowledge.

CV type carb on the SV works pretty similar to the variable type in the vid

I noticed some things on the carb towards the end of the video that I'd seen on the SV carbs. It was also interesting learning exactly how the choke works

It's only how that particular sort works.

SV choke is an air bypass that picks up fuel from a separate jet. Don't believe everything you read/see/watch until you've studied a part yourself in detail.

I thought I understood forks until I took some apart.

I see. It still gives a sort of general kind of idea, at elast I can visualise in my mind the principle now

Ever used one of those vacuum filtering rigs that you put tap water through?

yes...they are useless for creating a decent enough vacum to do serious filtration
