You can read about why I'm asking in the Soho massive section but Thailand, hairpin, steep up hill, patch of oily gunk and 3 ft deep drainage ditch is the short version. So when I get home I need the chipped bone in my elbw pinned, Anyone had it done? Pain, recovery time, long term effects - but please don't scare me too much!
And a travel insurance comapny who have gone AWOL on me when I need them, could do with some advice on that too please.

I can't help you with the elbow, and I don't know what they have done to try and fix it so far.
But if I were in Thailand, with a broken anything that wasn't going to get fixed anytime soon, and my insurance company went AWOL my plan would be to find my credit card, and book the next flight out to London and get it sorted on the NHS. Unfortunalty the cheapest flight from CNX to LHR seems to be about £541 from expedia ![]() Dan Last edited by Sudoxe; 07-02-10 at 01:16 PM. |

Insurance company are still being cr@p but when I get home I plan to try and claim for the cost of the bike hire that I sent on a bike I couldn't ride. They have just asked me to prove I have a driving licence 10 days after I first contacted them and said they need me to prove tat the policy I took out covers me to ride a 650cc - you'd think they could check the policy THEY SOLD ME to get this info.

read the small print of your travel insurance, unfortunately some extreme activities are eexcluded on standard policies and need special insurance. horse riding, rugby, skydiving, motorcycling. remember insurance companies employ a lot of people purely to find a way not to play a claim.
re the elbow, from experience (not elbow) spend what it needs to get it sorted properly and asap and worry about the cost later. health has no price. |

I should stress that as this was a biking holiday I did take out the special insurance through Carole Nash. It's the medical people who have been rubbish at Axa.

Am so sorry to hear of your awful experience, what a shame as it sounds a fantastic holiday. Can`t offer any advice with the travel insurance but my best wishes for a full recovery and a fast result with the insurance.
