So then, o2 cant give me a definitve answer! I am on an o2 contract that includes free web browsing etc, now, if i link up my laptop to my phone and use it as a modem to access the web etc, would this be part of my included internerd?

Yes and no.
Typically such contracts are sold as "unlimited internet" where they actually should say "unlimited internet as long as you only access it from the phone" on the assumption that you won't actually be able to download that much. It's called tethering and is actually blocked on some phones (see Iphone) but may work on yours, be careful though as while it may work it may not be 'allowed' and you may run up some horrific data bills. SE W995. It probably would, just wondering if anyone knew for definite that was all. I'll load up the drivers etc on my laptop tonight and run it and see if it turns up on my bill.

I have an XDA Ignito on O2 and it works perfectly as a modem. When my home router bit the dust last year, I used it for 3 days and nothing appeared on my bill.
