After my little off in Thailand me and my husband traded in the two hire ER6n's for one XJR 1200 so I could ride pillion. While in Thailand I could accept him swooning over the XJR, the way he lovingly stroked its shiny curves and forgave it having to be bump started every morning.
But this was a holiday romance for my husband that didn't end when we returned to England. His BMW F650GS Dakar is now out of favour, cast aside without a second thought and it will shortly be appearing in the 'non-Sv's for sale' section (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=147049) as yesterday he looked at this at Alpha Motors in Leigh on Sea: I can't really compete. He has found his one true love. (But at least I may have some chance of riding the XJR as it is a lot lower than the Dakar.)

They are a great bike - although ground clearance was a pain when "pressing-on" for me...
Gotta love the huuuuge torque of that monster engine though ![]()

I know how you feel... There are five of us in our relationship and I swear that Carol wants to cheat with either a new Z-thou or an old Zephur.
I feel so unloved! Off to try and start the GTR and get it rolling again now. |

Did not know the Afrika Korps were still in existance? In Thailand! Who would have thought...
![]() ![]() Nice. Lovely big solid bikes (for two too). Just need to be MADE to handle. I remember Dan Walsh saying these bikes were "like wafting around in an old jag" ![]() Enjoy. |
