Righty very tighty?

Seriously though, yes, PITA to remove, from memory done up to 145Nm. I found my biggest problem was stopping the shaft/bike from moving. Had to wait for a dry day[1] and get my wife sat on the bike with the front up against a wall in 1st with the rear brake full on....

[1] tried it in the wet and not enough grip!

I have a friendly tyre shop at the end of my road that stick their impact driver on them for me.
I normaly chip them a £5 but it was cheeper than the 3 breaker bars I snapped trying to do it myself.

I've been known to reverse the direction of my big torque wrench, wind it up to max and use that. Not ideal but as long as it doesn't click technically isn't being misused!

I put a piece of 4x2 through the back spokes to stop it turning and used a masseeev breaker bar (over a metre long) that we use on the big diesel engines at work. Still bloody hard work.

I tried that but didn't have a big enough piece of wood and it snapped it!
