cutting it a bit fine on my tyre replacement...

Fortunately Steve of F&B Tyres sorted it out for me, got a nice new BT-016 on the front, seems interesting. still got a PR2 on the rear but seems to work OK, back will need replacing in 3-4k I think done 5k already.

Incidentally, the front made it 15k, admittedly should have been replaced 3-4k ago perhaps

Thought I'd even the wear over the centre band out a bit over the winter but still manage to have worn the edges out first.

That's £1000 fine and 3 points right there! (OK £1000 is the max fine, but it is shagged!) Lucky not to be on your ass in the road with that though.

You can imagine the nerves riding through the middle of Crewe (which seems to be police central) at lunchtime to get it swapped then!

I got sucked into the habit of "one more day, I don't go far" I meant to call Steve and get a tyre ordered while I was away last week but forgot/was busy and it dawned on me as I left the house this morning. fortunately work is on the way to Steve's house so I wasn't putting many more miles on it.

I've been bad before for tyres, having the middle completly slick before (where there was lots of tread).

But thats taking the p1ss right there. Lucky that didn't go pop and send you on your face.

Lesson learned, tyres are important, do not scrimp on the important things.

Love to know what you'd of done if the front tyre went bang, and how you would (n't) have dealt with it. Fancy writing of your bike, and causing yourself serious injury for the sake of £80.........???

Not cool at all. Go sit in the corner with the D hat on.

How much was the new BT016 if you don't mind me asking (PM me if you prefer) ... I need some new shoes on Zuky and was recommended those, altho I would be buying a set.
